Further Proof

Check out this quote from Joe Girardi.  He was responding to questions about why Jorge Posada hasn't been catching lately.

"I will look at match ups and when you want to get two right-handed bats in the lineup you aren't going to DH Molina."

So, the plan against LHP is to get Molina in there because he is a righty?  Surely Joe has noticed that Molina is hitting .192 against LHP and .226/.263/.311 overall.  Pretty much anyone would be a better choice than Molina and seeing how the Yankees have scored two runs or less in 31 games this season, the offense needs help.  Molina can throw out all the runners in the world, but his bat is part of the overall problem.

If the manager is going to insist on running Molina out there everyday, it is the GM's job to stop him.  Get Sexson signed, or make a trade.  (Matt Holliday is reportely available and he could cure a multiude of offensive sins)  The pitching has surprisingly turned out ok even with the injuries, the offense needs  help and fast.

What would you be willing to give up for Holliday? He won't come cheap. I'll bet Cashman wouldn't be willing to meet the Rockies' price.

Greg- I wouldn't give up Jackson, Hughes or Melancon but would do anything after that. I am not sure what the Rockies want, but the Yankees have a lot of young pitchers like Horne or McCutchen that might be attractive to Colorado.

So, Eric Milton is back in the Yankee organization. Looking back on his career, he did a decent job for the Twins; even won 15 games and made the All Star team in 2001. But on the whole, losing Milton and Guzman in the trade with Minnesota is not something that hurt the Yankees too much.

Now, Milton hasn't pitched in over a year and is coming off a dismal showing with the Reds. Will he make it back to the big leagues with the Yankees?

While the Rockies seemed to have figured out a way to control the run-away offense at Coors, Holliday proves to be a Coors hitter.

Home: .364/.427/.659
Away: .278/.341/.452

Holliday wouldn't come cheap either (which is odd b/c of those splits alone).

I had wrote last year that we should have went after free agent aaron rowand 9.5 mil. great glove and heart and had a great offensive year, now look, matsui was going to giants for lincecum, "what happened"think where we would be with those two,No team in my memory has this bad a bench ever...As for holiday coors field has nothing to do with average, the guy hits line drives all over. he is just comfortable at home. so the bronx can be his new home. If I were cashman , its block buster trade time Haladay , burnett for cano and whom ever else they want except jeter or the first baseman on the twins for any package also. its time cash make noise. hughes looks like an acccident waiting to happen we will see him next year hurt again.trade mussina now i keep saying his stock is now way up, him giambi abreu worthless pavano igawa, san diego was crazy to ask for this bum last year "what happened" betemit . hawkins we can throw petite on thier 90 plus mil. gone next year so lets play blockbuster NOW... remember chambliss from Clev. jimmy key , tino martinez lets go get our next fits to this puzzle. we still have a shot.. CASHMAN go out with a bang ,I was 100% with all your plans these guys couldn't keep their potential up they melted in the NY heat. Ed witson to SD , we have several of them again.. you all love damon he is an ulser in the outfield, trade him also now that he is above .300he will settle at high 270s a real goof ball.Look in Jeters eyes he knows we can't win with these guys, i have never seen him with a sense of lost on his face.melky is a nice kid, i like him a lot but he still dont have a clue for the game, he kills us with men on third and less than two out ,its every time up a four pitch walk ahead of him, swinging at anything . hes lost.. no more at this level another team maybe he is ricky ledee all over.
