Jon Heyman is reporting that Derek Lowe's pricetag is $16 million per. Figure he is going to want four years as well and I can't see any reason why the Yankees would choose four years of him over one year of Andy Pettitte at a lesser price.

At $16 million a year, Derek Lowe is making his old teammate Manny look like a bargan!
Anyone think Manny is plan C?

I think that Manny is an untouchable for the Yankees. They've got enough aging DH players. Before they even looked at Manny, they'd take a run at Texeira for 1B.
Yep, I'd take Andy for a year and then see what 2010 looks like for pitching.

I could see them take a run at Tex and Manny if they don't get CC.

I'd love to be at the meeting where Girardi and/or Cashman chat with Manny about his hair. Yep, that would be fun. ;-)

Good point and I can't think of a worse manager for Manny than Girardi. It's a recipe for disaster.
