23+22=Good

The last two night's have provided a glimpse into the ideal Yankee future- Hughes (22) and Joba (23) both in the rotation and both winning games.  It has happened before, September 2007 to be specific, but I wonder when was the last time before that when the Yankees had two pitchers getting wins who were under 25?

Who knows if this is the start of something or a flash in the pan, but the Yankees have a reason to be optimistic.

not to hijack the post, but my Yankee friend at work emailed me last Wednesday or Thursday with a trivia question - name the baseball legend that Mariano Rivera passed in career ERA for pitchers with over 1000 innings pitched?

I guessed (without looking) Bob Gibson and was wrong. Take a shot (guess before you look it up).

BTW - I sent him a text Friday night and told him Rivera likely (he did) fell behind the player after giving up the bomb to Jason Bay. :)

That's tough, I want to say a reliever like Lee Smith, but I have no clue.

search alltime ERA on baseballreference.com and be surprised

answer is Babe Ruth

Great one BL, what a player.
