Awful

You just can't lose that series. What I saw on the field these past few nights is a team that took its opponent lightly and got its ass kicked because of that.  Seriously, did the Yankees look ready to play any of these games?  (Yes, I give them some excuse for today's game since it started five+ hours late, but Washington didn't seem to have a problem.)

So far in June the Yankees are 8-8. Would it shock you to know that coming into tonight the bullpen had a 2.91 ERA for the month?  You can't blame the pen.  Starting pitching, lack of hitting, take your pick they both have victimized this team.

Now, it's on to the NL parks with nine games.  Considering the level of the competition, they should win a bunch of them.  But, as we just learned, records mean little when the teams meet on the field.

Walking in runs happens to be one of those things that makes me get up and walk away from the screen for a while. Walked away for a while ...

Joba is such a talented kid. Great stuff, great command until hits some sort of mental speed bump and then can't find the corners any more. As My Cousin Vinny would say, "Yutes".

The starting pitching was pretty good this series. But they do not hit.

How long are you going to keep A-Rod batting fourth? He'll play like this for the rest of the season unless he's kicked in the behind or put on the DL. Girardi is patient to a fault and tends to be in denial about the serious deficiencies of this team.

Recommendations:

1. Bat A-Rod second and shorten up his swing. If that doesn't work, bat him eighth or put him on the DL.

2. Bat Posada or Jeter fourth. At least they has some balls.

3. To heck with dumb dumb Swisher. Play Gardner and Cabrera in the outfield every day. They play smart baseball, they have speed, and they hustle.

4. When you pitch like Wang has, you go to the bullpen, period. Hughes should start.

5. Use Rivera in the eighth inning when necessary. I'm not buying this line that this is too much for him. Torre used him in the eighth inning and he's used to it.

Let's face it, this team sucks. They've lost every game to the Red Sox. They should have lost 5 out of 6 on this homestand and they are lucky to have split. What does it take to get these guys mad? When are they going to start issuing these guys bras to wear under their uniforms?
